Some quick notes about the film The American Astronaut.

We've just finished watching the film The American Astronaut. It was very strange, in a Church of the Subgenius kind of way. It would be difficult for me to give away the ending of the film, since there didn't seem to be one. I found the humor most excelent, in a Rocky Horror kind of cultish way. If you enjoy that kind of thing, then this film might be for you. I mean, how many noir sci-fi rock-and-roll musicals are there really. I can't think of many. Maybe there's a reason for that... hmm. Maybe.
I enjoyed the starkness of the film to. It's all in black and white. Some of the scenes are still shots shown while the music plays. It is an interesting visual effect, which I wish would be used more. It shows the passage of time well and moved the story forward.

All in all, I think I would watch this again, as I'm sure it get's better and better the more you see it. Then you can sing along.

You can get it at Netflix too.
